Century Paper & Board Mills Limited (CPBM),
a listed Public Limited Company was formed a decade ago in 1990
as a flagship company of Lakson Group. The Company has manifested
itself as Quality Producer of Packaging Board so much so that demand
pressures forced us to operate at over optimal capacity of 107%
last year. We have strategic business relationships with leading
Paper and Board Converting Companies CPBM integrated Pulp &
Paper Mill is a 85,000 tons capacity unit. Local Wheat Straw and
River Grass are used to produce Chemical Pulp.
A team of professional manages CPBM, which
comprise of process & Paper Technologies Engineers, Chartered
Accountants, Cost and Management Accountants, MBA's, Analysts and
Administration & Human Resource specialists. More then 60
Engineers of different technologies are currently working at its
Mills with well-trained lower tier supervisors and operators. Total
strength of CPBM employees is more then 800.
Plant
and Machinery
Century is a leading Paper and Board producing
unit with five Paper Machines (PM I-V) and a capacity of 85,000
tons per annum to be enhanced to 100,000 tons after BMR program
is completed. Currently we have two Paper Machines (PM-II &
III) and three Board Machines (PM-I, IV & V). Further we have
two off-line Coating Machines (CM I & II) with a major rebuild
and additions in CM-2 in Year 2001. Parts and Equipment for this
built up were from VOITH and BMB of Europe. Box plant started production
in 2003 with a single shift capacity of 15,000 tons.

Suppliers
Century imports WOOD
PULP (Hard Wood, Soft Wood, BCTMP) from Scandinavian
countries, Western Europe and USA. Another major raw material is recycled paper
(BBC, OCC, ONP) which apart from being procured locally is imported
in large quantitative from various countries. Spares & stores
(Felts, Wires, Motors, Pumps, Bearings) and Chemicals
(Fillers, Clay, Soda Ash, Latex, Binders, Starch, Gum Rosin other Paper and Corrugation Chemicals)
are mainly imported.

Century produces Writing & Printing Paper,
Poster Paper and Coated and Un-Coated Board in various gram mages,
sizes and forms. Box plant production consists of corrugated boxes
of various sizes and weights with upto 3-colour printing.
In order to get uninterrupted power supply CPBM
has a captive power plant of 12.3 MW, which is sufficient to supply
for current and future needs. This Power Plant is a subsidiary of
Century Paper and Board Mills Limited.
CPBM is the only ISO 9001:2000 Certified Paper
and Board Unit of Pakistan.
